The Lister is back!(no I do not care if that's not a word)

I cannot believe that in the entire 6 month existence of this blog, I have not made a single list. Hell, I love lists! Kind of. :P

Would it be too much to do a hot list??
Damn it, it's my blog!! Why am I even asking??
So here goes...The Hot List(guys only duhh)
We'll take it from the bottom, my faithful fan following already knows number one!

5. James McAvoy-Kinda dorky in Wanted but in Becoming Jane and Penelope...Whooaa! I cannot believe this guy was Mr.Tumnus.
4.Patrick Swayze- Only in Dirty Dancing...but mostly because I haven't seen other movies of his. Such an amazing dancer. RIP Patrick.
3.Ryan Reynolds-Eeeep! Oh the sarcastic comments! :D
2.Chace Crawford. You make Gossip Girl worth watching and er 'dating' a married woman not seem slutty!
1.Ian Somerhalder-Have you seen The Vampire Diaries??? No? Then you will not understand.Orr you might...Just look at him!

Okay I've been wanting to do that for a long time. I feel much better now.I have this weird feeling I missed someone out though. Oh well, he'll understand. :P

Ooh I've got another one. Very very random.(I know, I know, over-usage of the word. Bite me.)

Top 5 things to do when it's raining!

5.Maggie Noodles:)

4.Rom-com+coke+munchies+sofa.

3.Capuccino and cake+Two and a Half Men

2. Bed+Blankie+Chick-lit

Bangalore weather is good for all of this. Lucky Bangalore people. Sigh. Heat is so overrated.

Got one more coming up. Post I mean, not list(What I'm only human!):P.
Stay Tuned...;)

So damn random

I'm sure all of us, at one point or another, have mulled over the extreme complexity of life. When we were little, things were simple, like, dislike(kinda like facebook :P), do, don't do, listen to parents, don't listen, tell the truth, lie and so on. Then the inevitable happens- You grow up. You read stuff, you experience stuff, you meet complex characters, the world isn't black and white anymore. It's like this messy, abstract painting with the random spots of bright color representing happy times with people you love. Gradually, your perspective changes, what seemed horrifying before doesn't seem so bad now. You're old enough to start fighting your childhood fears, you're old enough to hide stuff from your parents without feeling guilty, you're old enough to realise that people are flawed. Life is pretty short and we all want to get it right, because hello, we only live once. Wait, what I'm saying here is that we'll probably never understand the complexity of life, the irony of fate, the selfishness of human beings, why things don't happen when we so badly want them to, why one has to go down to go up(seriously, what is up with that?), whether fate really controls us, whether karma will catch up to us....I mean, who knows?

I think there are hardly any boundaries left these days. Nobody defines any, who even started it? The thing is boundaries, though limiting and prehistoric, make things feel simpler and safer. Remember those days when we had 'best friends' and used to literally declare it? "Oh, she's my best friend". Now we have a bunch of close friends who are probably close friends with another bunch of people, you don't really talk about how close you are. When we were kids, friendships were simple. Now you find yourself wondering, we were so tight, how did we drift apart? Should I call? Maybe they don't want to talk, what would they think? When did things become so complicated?? Even with romance, the more books I read, the more movies I watch, the more convinced I am that there's something we don't know. What if love doesn't exist? What if, in the end, everyone just succumbs to attraction and you know gets married because everyone around them is doing it? And, then they just either have affairs or carry on with life because they're too lazy to change anything? Happiness after all is transient. The happy life people refer to is just a term for peace and satisfaction. You can have that without being truly happy, you know, if there's something you know you're missing out on.
Oh, heck what am I going on about?Noone is going to get this!!I'm reading too many sordid books. I just read one where this girl says yes to a proposal from another guy even though she doesn't love him because he's good and makes her feel safe and crap n then realises she's really in love with her sister's husband whom her sister has just walked out on and probably has been for years! Wait, before the boring guy, she had an affair with a very much married man(to his college sweetheart,no less) and she basically liked the boring guy because he made her feel good. In the end, they get together(duh- ex-husband of sister guy and our heroine), of course,(I don't read books with sad endings) apparently he's loved her for years too. Yeesh. That was just disturbing. And yet one finds oneself rooting for just the kind of character we love to hate in chick-lits and one sees things from her point of view- hell, things are complicated, no black and white, everybody has a side, a reason, and a not-so-insane-sounding explanation. Who am I kidding? Crazy book! Stupid love is so complicated(Not that I have much experience but what I do have is plenty of time for brooding). Some people just chase after it all their lives and some people just don't bother. Maybe the latter are happier, they have no expectations after all.
Life gets complicated when you expect things.

I think I just aged like, 30 years.

In my defense, I did title it the disconnected ramblings.

p.s.- All movie and book ramblings from now on only on my page(tell me a story).

p.p.s. I probably shouldn't publish this but I'll go ahead anyway because that's what a blog is all about.

Good night y'all

Cricket and Random Weird Stuff

April 26th, 8pm
Hello, guess who's back with more randomness?...yes, JUST for you guys, my faithful fan following..
Aren't you excited??
Well, actually it's because I'm pretty jobless...
Having done with my exams, I took off to Bombay for a break-you know coz I worked so hard during my exams:|(What?? I DID!)-and so am sitting in my Grandparents' house, waiting for some relative to get back home so we can visit. Fun fun fun eh?? Actually, its' pretty nice, not having to do anything but sit around, eat, shop, watch Two and a Half Men, or Dirty Dancing all over again. Boy,do I love that movie or what...I love Say Anything too but Dirty Dancing is Dirty Dancing and Patrick Swayze is just...well I can't think of a good enough word right now. I mean John Cusack is adorable but can he dance like that? Nuh-uh!

Okay, okay I'll change the subject. CHENNAI WON! How cool is that??
Hah to mon cousins; told them Mumbai would lose. I watched a bit of the match with them and you know I never realised what it's liek to watch a match with actual sports buffs. I was just sitting there and and feeling happy when CSK hit a six or cursing them when they got out or whatever but these guys have something to say at EVERY single ball. What's up with that?? The guy bowls and they go all "Ooohh" and I'm like "Huh? What'd I miss?" Was that a good 'Ooohh' or a bad one?? Then they use terms like 'long on' and 'leg side' and I'm wondering which leg do they mean when they say leg side? SO how do I know what the hell leg side is?? I never remember that stuff!! So I just wisely kept quiet and pretended to be super absorbed in the game. Anyway after all that bandying around of super-knowledgeable crickety-phrases also their team lost. Couldn't tell that was going to happen, could they? Well, I knew! I'm clairvoyant, you know :| Seriously, ask me anything. I veel tell you your fyuucher!(In case, you didn't realise, that's a dorky accent).

April 28th, 1 pm

Yeah I know what you're thinking...Don't ask. I don't have internet in Mumbhaaii.
So, yesterday, I met Nikita at linking road and I was carrying this large backpack on my shoulders and walking around looking at the shops. I was eating an ice cream and i finally gave up on it and threw it coz it was like pathetic(DO NOT eat raspberry twist or whatever the hell it's called from Mc Donald's okay?? Or fine, go ahead, if you're someone I don't like :P)and then i needed a tissue so I'm trying to get to my tissues by bending my arm back and digging into my bag without taking it off my back and it's stuck, see, so I whine " Oh mannnn!"; This weird-ass shopkeeper standing nearby says " Oh yess, madammm"!!!!
I was like WTF!!!! What a *beep* *beep*!! I suppose it's kinda funny though, in a creepy way. Nikita seemed to think so :|
Whoa, writing about this is making me feel more creeped out! I'd basically forgotten about it!

Anyway, I'm in Bombay, I'm actually getting good food to eat, found a pair of jeans that fits me (okay, jeggings, but that just sounds so wrong) , my hair actually shines and no studying for another week.

La Bella Vita!!

More later,
Bye y'all

Let me vent

Well, I knew it wouldn't be long before it came down to this. I'm indulging in one of my crazy-moody-sulky fits. Sigh. It's not that I wish to sulk....A bad mood feels like a vortex to me, once you get into one, there's no coaxing yourself out of it. The lamentable part is that it doesn't take much to put me in one these days, being a born pessimist(yes, in addition to confused)...wonder if I was always like this...

I miss my friends ya know. It aint the same in college, though I do know I got it easy...I tried to be grateful and count my blessings and stuff the other day so i was muttering to myself as I walked down the stairs- after getting a test result not up to the mark, and feeling myself being sucked into the vortex- "grateful grateful grateful grateful...." but it just made me feel like throwing up. Really! How unnatural of one to feel that way when one does indeed have a load to be grateful for in life. But the grass is green on all sides and i'm standing in a dry spot, the way it looks to me. I am so going to hell for this. :P But, I daresay God knows all about venting and mood-swings.

I must have changed a lot since I moved away from Hyd, because I've been noticing things about myself I own I cannot like. It makes me think if I'm just discovering myself or if I've just changed. Yes, yes, I tend to introspect a lot and stuff. But what is one to do when the best conversation to be had for miles around is inside one's own head??? So I talk. To myself. Or the little voice in my head. Whatever you choose to call it.

Point is, my brains are rotting. Slowly but surely. All the vernacular I am obliged to speak is eating away at my spoken English. My poor, prized 94%-in-ICSE-English. I couldn't summon up a witty remark without cudgelling my brains for a whole minute, not even if the offender annoyed me VERY much. In fact, i'm much more likely to come up with an expletive, now that's not smart neither does it suit a lady!:( Any chance remarks are wasted....Gone with the wind. I feel melancholy as I watch them sail over several heads around me. As I wave to and reflect upon the sad rarity of these ill-fated witticisms, I have to own that that it scares me that I shan't ever see any of their like again.

Wait. That wasn't the point was it?? No I was saying...er typing...how sad it is that I've become this judgmental, suspicious creature who doesn't care much to make new acquaintances and who I'm afraid is turning into a full-fledged brat. Ok, I suppose it aint as bad as all that. I have become less sensitive than I was used to(ultra-sensitive), wised up a little(I hope), lightened up a lot and learned a lot. But I do find myself judging people too quickly or writing them them off after an alarmingly short acquaintance with them. My temper grows shorter and shorter and I find myself losing my patience with people more and more often and nothing I can tell myself can convince me that such fits are irrational. What right do I have to even think rude thoughts about folks?

I'm sorry, I'm feeling down today. This post I know is not like my usual rubbish. Well actually it is, but melancholy rubbish. But what's a blog for if you can't indulge yourself?

More later, Hopefully not in the same strain....

Fairly Odd Tales

Er i sorta went on a Disney fairy tale movie-watching-spree the past couple of weeks...I know I know...dorky right? You're probably thinking "Gosh, how old are u??"
Fine, I am 19 but I do love me some Disney :D The man was a genius!
But all the fairy tales seem to have a formula...the same old thing in different packages....Here's what I noticed...

1)The princesses ALL sing!!
What's up with that?? And in really squeaky voices too...Take Snow White for example, I was near to tearing my hair out..."haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" *glass breaks*

2)The princesses also talk to and dance with animals.
Or in the case of the little mermaid, sea creatures.
In the REAL world, people who talk to animals usually only get eaten or pooped on for their loquaciousness. They DO NOT walk off into the sunset with a prince.

3) The prince's name doesn't really matter. It's true! In Cinderella the prince had no name! He was just "His Royal Highness, Our Noble Prince". A bit of a mouthful, dontcha think??
The same with Snow White and Beauty and the Beast....in fact, Belle calls him "Beast":| I really don't know how they managed the entire movie with the guy only being called "the prince" or "the beast" or "you" or "the master"...Jeesh!
Even the mention of Prince Eric and Prince Phillip has one going "huh who??" and when told "You know, Ariel's prince" or "Sleeping Beauty's prince" one goes ooohhh that guy!!
So basically, the ladies rule the fairy tales...Oh yeah!! :)

4)The prince has a convenient habit of running into the princess when she's a) dancing with/without animals, or b) singing with/without animals or c)both of the above and INSTANTLY falling in love with her.
Men.

5)The princess is always INCREDIBLY stupid. No, really. Consider...
Aurora goes and touches a large pointy thingy egged on by a mysterious and sinister voice.
Ariel makes a deal with Ursula, a sea-witch(witch!!) and expects her to play fair.
Snow White takes an apple from a scary elderly woman even though the dwarves told her to be careful and bite into it without the least suspicion of something wrong.
I'd like to see a smart-ass princess for once :D

6)Somehow, they get the songs exactly right. All of the disney movie tunes are classics. And they have this annoying way of getting stuck in your head for days after you watch the movie.
Believe me, took me a while to get rid of "Hi Ho hi ho..*whistle whistle* "

7) The dialogues and the song lyrics are essentially of the same stuff..."Dreams come true blah diddy blah... Once upon a dream...true love...blah blah...something more about dreams..." You get the point :P

8)Good triumphs over evil.
This part, of course I like. We're all suckers for happy endings, aren't we? :)

Now, don't get me wrong...I don't mean to go all "Bah, humbug" on y'all, I'm just writing down what I see now, at the age of nineteen as opposed to the age of...8? 12? whatever... But, you know what? In spite of the obvious flaws and gaping plot holes and unrealistic characters, I love these movies! The beauty and the beast almost made me cry, fancy that!!

And the little mermaid too...! I suppose it's because of the whole happy ending thing...I really am a sucker for that :P
Oh and I like the princes:D they're all cute and er.. princely:P

Not all of them, I dislike Cindy's and Snow White's princes...they were dorks...all they did was sing and dance. They weren't even there to rescue their princesses from dire situations/evil stepmothers.*Shakes head disapprovingly*
I suppose they can't all be perfect:P

My favourite is Prince Eric:) Also(how could I forget) Aladdin:D

And my favourite Princess is Ariel or maybe Jasmine or Belle...I can't decide:P

I'm too lazy now to find nice pictures to put here:P ;they are unbelievably hard to find...And would you believe some jerk has doctored a pic of prince eric with one of them thought bubbles reading "I'm a homo" ??
What is that huh??? Sick freak. :X

And the side-kicks are usually really funny...like gus-gus the mouse and sebastian and flounder and lumiere and cogsworth.....they crack me up!

So yeah, I guess i'm never really going to grow out of "Cartoons" as people so wrongly call them. i would prefer 'animated features' or something like that...They're not just "cartoons". Jeesh. Yeah back to the point, which is...I forget.
Crap.
But I love Disney!
And I hate Disney too...fairy tales indeed! Putting dashed silly notions into our heads in our tender years :P
But, mostly, I love Disney!!
Sorry y'all sleep deprivation has this effect on me. I'm going to stop before I bore myself to tears.
Adios Folks!

Vampires and Hip-hop

Guess what? I finally did something worthwhile! I joined dance classes :D We're going to be doing hip-hop and jazz...ain't it cool?? The first class did not impress me much- I mean we were 30 or 40 people stuck in this relatively small room with no place to dance. It was ridiculous, we couldn't even do a step without treading on someone's foot or hitting someone's head and the guy says "you're bumping into each other because you're all not turning at the same time":| Today's class was good though, the steps were hard and the song(thankfully) was 'Right Round' :) So yay for hip hop!

VAMPIRE DIARIES IS BACKKK!
And it just got even MORE intriguing! As though I should care even if it didn't, I'd still watch for Damon:D and his pretty ice blue eyes...sigh. I call him Damon because that's who I like. Who knows what Ian is like in real life? I saw his twitter thingy and it was a snore, I regret to say. It's a shame...how can he play someone so deliciously evil and smart and witty and be a duhh in real life?? huh?? Although I'm starting to have mixed feelings about Damon too...He pulled that lady''s heart right out of her body.. eeeewww!.. and killed like dozens of people. I may have a lamentable tendency to be attracted toward 'bad boys' especially vampires and other vicious mythical human-like creatures but I'm not that pathetic as to drool over a killer. Hmm maybe I shan't be soo excited about VD from now on...

....ORRR I could just watch anyway and admire his pretty ice blue eyes without freaking out over the whole morality thing :P Who can resist those eyes eh??

More later,
Toodles

Back to college...sigh

I cannot believe my holidays passed by so quickly...it's crazy..one day I'm falling asleep in class begging providence to make time fly so i can get to my four glorious days of freedom and the next thing u know i'm begging for time to crawl. Back to sleeping in class from tomorrow. Although I probably shouldn't do that. I should pay attention like a good girl. :| Have I mentioned that being good is totally overrated?? Well, it is. It's no fun. But the irony of Fate is such that when you want to be bad and have fun for once in your life, Fate does it's best, it's very best to keep opportunities out of your way. Haha Fate, I don't see nobody laughing.

So I saw this really funny movie 'Analyze This'...superb parody on mobsters. There's a scene where Billy Crystal is doing the Italian mafia guy accent...it's hilarious:)
I also saw this ridiculous movie called 'A view from the top'. Seriously what KIND of a girl would leave Mark Ruffalo to become an international, first class-serving, paris-flying AIR HOSTESS???
Or as they say in the movie, "FLIGHT ATTENDANT":| Same old story, small town pretty girl, big dreams, cute guy, choice between love and ambition, pretty girl picks ambition, regrets it, comes crying back to cute guy who, of course, takes her back. I could have written something better than that. Seriously.

Aaannd my Grand Slam Tennis game finally got working so that's great :) I totally whupped computer game Davenport's ass :) But Serena Williams got the better of me :P And Fedex is wayyyy too hard to beat! He's like alll over the place! Shall show no mercy tomorrow. They're all going to wish they had never been animated.

I suppose I should sleep now, gotta wake up in less than 6 hours :( Ugh, stupid college.
More later,
Toodles
