It's been 4 posts and I haven't done one on movies yet. Unacceptable!!!
So, I present to you...
The best and the worst of the Hindi film industry in the year 2009 (because big B doesn't like the word 'bollywood' :|)...
Best films of the year
3 Idiots
Kaminey
Um like duh!!
3 idiots came, it dazzled, and made engineering colleges look silly...
Oh and not to mention the cute lil' birdie dance number :D
Can we ask for more?? Seriously?
They made it alright to fay the word 'kaminey' not to mention giving uf two Fahids and a kickaff ftory with the most infane characterf...I would be guilty of kaminapan if I didn't include thif one :) "Aife aife kaife kaife?" :D
Best Music of the year
Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani
No i don't think 'chor bazaari' was all that great and nor have I understood that song till date. Really, I don't know what the fuss is about...
'Dhan te nan' was awesome but I wouldn't say the album was killer...
All the songs in this movie were great...come on...who hasn't hummed 'ku ku ku kuu kuu' to themselves?? :P Or sang loudly along to Tu jaane naaaa??? Not to mention sighing over the lyrics...
I rest my case. :P

Delhi 6
Do knot disturb
Oh sweet mother of god, these movies were torture.
Delhi 6 was baaaad even in fast forward. All I can remember is something about ram-leelas.
As for kambakkht ishq, Denise Richards telling Akshay Kumar "I wanna have golden babies with you" is going to haunt me for EVER.
Do knot disturb was not even funny. Not even close to funny. Tsk-tsk Govinda....I really liked your older movies.
I got wise after these and didn't watch some movies which were you know, bound to be terrible.
De dana dan for example. And Luck too...poor Imran Khan, sure doesn't know how to pick them eh?

We expected great things, they disappointed.
Shame on you yashraj, for daring to cast shahid in such an awful film with an actor who looks like his aunt.
Apparently what's your raashee had 12 songs and was 3 and a half hours long. It starred Harman Baweja too as we know. Need I say anymore?
Kurbaam was just lame in parts and cc2c could have been great if they had focused on the story and fights rather than on promoting a certain acor's ego trip.
I am certainly not going to sully this blog with photos from these er dhabbas on our 'film industry's ' name.

All hype, absolutely no substance.
And sallu and ajay devgan as rockstars in london is really the height of absurdity!
Movies that became hits by some unknown process...can't be because they were good or something!!

Wanted
New York was I dunno ...weird...they weren't taking sides on the terrorism issue as usual, the acting was bad, the accents were grating on my ears so please, just please ew!!

HA did u really think i watched it?? :P Apparently it recovered costs before release because of the music sales or something!
Wanted was again, super lame. You have to watch it to see how lame the dialogues are.

"Ek baar maine commitment karli toh uske baad main khud ki bhi nahi sunta!!"

They had nice stories and great ensemble casts. These movies were real. We can ignore the lil flaws...keep the good stuff coming!
So all in all, 2009 wasn't all that great.
We got only a half-dozen good films. Many atrocious ones. But, the trend seems to be moving toward good stories rather than the nonsensical comic-capers that were used to be popular.
So here's to intelligent cinema and the phasing out of the oldies(with all due respect, but honestly you can't expect to set the cash registers ringing by prancing around with much younger co-stars and absolutely no story-line)...ahem so yeah here's to 2010!! :)
